Volunteering for The Thrive Project
Volunteering can bring so many rewards, and here at The Thrive Project, we have plenty of ways you could volunteer; either from home or from our Community Hub in Paignton.
In order to volunteer at The Thrive Project or Thriving Families, you will need to be:

at least 18 years old.

DBS Checked (which we can arrange on your behalf).

eligible to volunteer, e.g. have refugee status or have exceptional leave to remain in the UK, appropriate visa.
Volunteering roles are varied, it depends on the skills you already have and those you wish to develop.
The Hub is open Monday, Wednesday & Friday 11am to 2pm.
We are currently looking for the following roles to support the Community Hub in Paignton.

Hub volunteer for Monday 11am to 2pm – this involves speaking to regulars and new attendees, helping with their concerns and directing them to help within Torbay. Keeping the Hub tidy, making drinks, stocking up the community chest,etc.

Hub volunteer (Monday, Wednesday or Friday) – As described above, but can provide a specific skill to support those in crisis, e.g. form filling.

Laundry Person – picking up items, cleaning at home and returning to the hub, e.g. tea towels, donated clothing.

Donation drop-off point in Torquay – we are looking for a business that would be able receive donated items until they can be collected.

Donation Collector – a person who can go to the different drop-off points to collect donations and bring them to the Community Hub in Paignton. A vehicle will be required to travel around Torbay.

Home Based Cook – create meals that can be easily heated in a microwave that can be given to clients and put in the community chest. Prepare cold meals for those who are homeless, but are filling and healthy. Sandwiches, baps, wraps, or any other ideas you may have.
Fundraising

Training
We provide training to our volunteers and any members of public who wish to join in. You can ask for specific training to develop your own personal skills, i.e. First Aid, H&S, Dealing with Conflict, etc.
